Playing Descent 2 through the Chocolate D2 source port made by SaladBadger / InsanityBringer. Much like with Chocolate Doom, this is a software-rendered port that allows us to play Descent II on modern hardware with a few fixes while being mostly faithful to the original. Yeap, that includes the blocky pixelated look. The BG MIDI music is being played through a Yamaha XG VSTi synth, note it’s not integrated within Chocolate Descent II and music will sound different depending on the device.
